Hey guys! =]

As you already may or may not know, we (Rossmoyne) have a chat server courtesy of Hung-Yi (Xacro)
This 'ere tut is for those who wanna join our chat server =]. It's very easy and I hope you'll come =.="
the server is located at irc://lyfe.b3ta.org || #chan for those of you who are pro and know what to do =]



Step 1:
Get Firefox. If you have already than skip this step =]
Go to: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/ and click the "Download Firefox Free" button thingy and install the program.

Step 2:
Get Chatzilla. Chatzilla is a Firefox add-on and allows you to connect to IRC channels such as ours and others. Lots of anime subbers/manga scanlators have an IRC channel so i dunno you might wanna talk to them or something. Follow this link: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/16 click on the "Add to Firefox" button and when it does the permissions thing just say yes.

Step 3:
Now all you have to do is open Chatzilla and join our server =]. In the place where you can type, type: "/server lyfe.b3ta.org" then type "/join #chan"

Aaaaand that's it! Hope to see ya there =]

Pps. If you are using chatzilla, the server limits the number of people allowed to connect using the DEFAULT chatzilla settings. This is to prevent identity confusion and so forth.

So to avoid being kicked by OperServ on a successful connection, please follow these instructions on how to change your username to something unique:

- First Run Chatzilla by going to "Tools Menu > Chatzilla" in your main Firefox window.
- In the Chatzilla window that opens, select the "Chatzilla Menu > Preferences" item.
- On the left, you may see a list of servers and channels. Ignore them. Look for an item named "Global Settings" and select that.
- In the right hand side pane, after selecting Global Prefeneces, you should see a list of options. Scroll down until you see an option labelled "Username". In the space next to it, it should say 'chatzilla'. We want to change this to something unique.
- Choose a username. You can use your current favourite nickname or something completely different. Make sure it is unique enough.
- Apply and close the preferences window.
- Reconnect to the server, or restart Chatzilla.

Note: if Everyone does this, then the /whois command will show the username of the specified person. Now you'll be able to identify people based on these usernames. An added benifit of having your unique username is the ability to register your Nickname so that nobody else can use it. A bonus to registering your nickname is the ability to register a channel and thus be OP for that channel.
